Hi, Thanks for stopping by to read my Driving Fear review. Driving Fear is an anxiety and panic attack self help program that is specifically tailored to people whose anxiety is centered around driving and the fears they experience when the are behind the wheel.
The author of the program is Rich Presta, who was the brains behind the fantastically successful and highly regarded Anxiety Lie program. Click the link to read the Anxiety Lie review on this site.
So why is there a need for such a program? Well, there are millions of people who suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and in a very large percentage of sufferers, driving is one of the central triggers of their anxiety. As such, Presta decided to address this specific aspect of the condition directly. I myself suffered a variant of driving fear where I was terribly afraid that my stick-shift transmission car would roll backwards when I was on a hill, and that I would lose control and not be able to move it. The fear became so bad that I got a new car with an automatic transmission! Needless to say I was interested when I heard about this program.

As with all good anxiety treatment programs, it focuses on really thinking about your situation logically at length. For some people it is a fear of being on highways or motorways, for others it is being stuck in heavy, slow-moving traffic that terrifies them. No matter the specifics, in all cases it is a groundless fear that ultimately relates to not being in control.
The base of the Driving Fear program is similar to that used by Presta in the Anxiety Lie, where he challenges you to eliminate the negative thought processes from your mind by really focusing on your fears. His approach is simply to re-train your brain. Through your sub-conscious, it has built up a perceived threat that it believes exists when driving and now you have to train it that there is no threat. It really is quite a simple and elegant approach, and the program provides you with all of the tools you need to do it.
Two versions of the program exist, standard and premium.
The standard version features the following elements:
- The Manual: This represents the core of the program where Presta delivers his material and teaches you how to address your anxiety and how you need to alter your thought process to get your brain back on track and thinking rationally.
- The Driving Fear Interviews: An interview series where Presta talks to experts in anxiety and panic to ascertain their views on the fear of driving and how it pertains to anxiety and panic attacks.
- The Anixety Helix Report: Slightly oddly named, this element of the course is a ready-reckoner in understanding what causes panic attacks and anxiety while driving. It is closely related to some of the material covered in the Anxiety Lie program,
- The Overdrive System: Bonus material to be used by people suffering from the most severe driving anxiety. In a lot of cases, you won’t even need this part, but it’s good to have it there as a backup and certainly worth listening to if you have time. It features a very interesting audio seminar with a mental health professional who is an expert in anxiety and panic attacks.
The premium edition features the following extras:
- The Audio Version: Essentially the manual in audio format. Very handy for when you’re out and about and want to listen to the material. It’s particularly helpful to have on while you’re actually driving and it’s a great, quick way to go through the course material a second time if you need to.
- The Video Series: The same material covered in the book and audio series’, but delivered in Quicktime video format by Presta. This is probably the best way to go through the course.
- The S.A.F.E Series: A new treatment, subliminal auditory fear elimination is designed to alleviate your anxiety very quickly by using subliminal techniques.
- The Fast Lane Audio: This series is tailored at the specific fears people have when driving, like the one I mentioned earlier. The series deals with where they stem from and how best to address them.
Overall, you get a huge amount of content for your money, particularly with the premium edition and most importantly the material is top quality and very effective. Given that it costs about the price of one tank of gas and it comes with a full 8 week money back guarantee, it’s well, well worth checking out.
