There are quite a few products on the market nowadays for treating panic and anxiety. In this Anxiety Lie review, I hope to give you the information you need to make an informed choice on what product to choose.

The Anxiety Lie is a bit different from the other products in its approach. The author, Rich Presta, takes a no nonense apprach to your treatment. He firmly believes that the other products out there are too soft, and focused on making you feel better in the short term or eliminating the symptoms of anxiety and panic, whereas he deals with your anxiety very matter-of-factly and in fact almost aggressively at times!

It may seem something of a strange approach, taking people whose mental state is somewhat delicate and doing the equivalent of shouting at them. However, his methods are very effective in  showing you how your anxious state of mind is your own fault, and because you ‘own’ it, it means that you can do something about it.

The title ‘The Anxiety LIE’ refers to the fact Presta believes most of what we hear about anxiety from the media and other products is a lie. In fact if you visit the Anxiety Lie website you’ll see that he stresses this viewpoint over and over again.

The program stresses that:

You don’t need more of the garbage you’ve already read.  You don’t need more “motivation”, “positive thinking”, or warm and fuzzy nonsense that doesNOTHING to put an end to your anxiety.

This is fairly representitive of the content of the entire course. No nonsense, no sugar coating, just straight talking.

The Anxiety Lie contains the following elements:

The Anxiety Lie Manual:

Approximately 100 pages detailing the lies that you read about anxiety and the lies you tell yourself as an anxiety sufferer including how overcoming anxiety isn’t really a grave task that’s difficult to face, and how you fool yourself into procastinating your anxiety treatment much like a smoker who says ‘I’ll give up tomorrow’.

The Anxiety Lie Audio Edition:

The audio version is great for two reasons. Firstly, not everyone wants to read a long text about how to get over their anxiety. Some people prefer audio books and find them easier to digest and for those people the fact that Presta has included an audio version is a real plus. Secondly, there is a lot of information in the book, and chances are you’re not going to take it all in the first time you read it so having the option to listen to the entire contents again while you’re doing something like cleaning the house or driving to work is a great resource.

The Truth Revolution Audio:

The truth revolution is something of an added extra, where Presta interviews a clinical psychologist about his methods and the failings of other anxiety treatments. Its a very informative interview and complements the core course material very well. It’s well worth a listen. Don’t just skip over it because it’s not directly related to the core material.

The Rescue Audio Session:

This is your 911 audio file. When you’re feeling very anxious or are having a panic attack, you play this file and Rich Presta talks you through the panic attack and brings your anxiety levels right back down. This is one of the most benificial parts of the course, because it gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the treatment methodology when your symptoms are at their worst. Make sure that you have this file ready to go whereever you are so that you can put it on as soon as you feel your anxiety or panic building. This is very important! It’s extremely effective in reducing your anxiety almost immediately and is the most impressive and valuable part of the course in my opinion.

Overall, I think the Anxiety Lie is a very good program and it delivers what it promises. Some people may be put off by the ‘in-you-face’ approach, but there’s no doubting it’s an effective technique. I highly recommend giving it a try.
